History

When VOSSKO was founded in 1982, the sales area was limited to Westphalia in central Germany. At that time, we only supplied the food retail trade. Today, we have a nationwide presence in Germany, are very well established in many European and several South American markets and are systematically expanding our international presence in all sales areas. In addition to the food retail trade, we supply manufacturers of ready meals, stir-fries, delicatessen salads and other foods. Since 2006, we have been marketing an independent range for professional providers of catering services in the out-of-home market (company catering, hospitals, retirement homes, school catering, (system) catering, etc.).

1982

Founding of VOSSKO

Company founded by Bernhard and Maria Vosskötter. First production of frozen processed chicken and turkey products for Westphalia.

Until 1985

Sales expansion

Between 1983 and 1985, a nationwide sales and distribution organization was established. This also saw the first trade fair appearance at the ANUGA in Cologne. VOSSKO reached another milestone with the listing of its products by a major national trade center.

1987

Start of export

Start of export business to 16 countries. A year earlier, the company completed and moved into its new production and administration buildings on its own premises in Ostbevern, built in accordance with EC guidelines.

Since 1991

Entries into management

In 1991, the three brothers (from left) Clemens, Ansgar and Dietmar Vosskötter joined the management team one after the other.

Until 1998

Steady growth

The years up to 1998 were of decisive importance for the growth of VOSSKO. Not only was capacity expanded by 50% with the construction of a second production hall, but the quality management system was also certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001. In addition, the company made its first trade fair appearances at Inter Cool in Düsseldorf and PLMA in Amsterdam.

2001

Expansion of the product range

Expansion of the product range to include convenience products made from pork.

2003

Expansion of production

Opening of a third production hall, IFS and BRC certification and a new cold store.

2004

Opening in Brazil

In 2004, we celebrated the establishment of our own production facility in Lages, Brazil, with EC approval. A short time later, EC approval was granted for the processing of beef for VOSSKO in Brazil.

2006

Further expansion

This year marked the establishment of a new sales level: VOSSKO Foodservice. Two years later, the company premises were expanded with the commissioning of the new frozen food warehouse with 12,500 storage spaces.

2009

New office building

A new office building was built in 2009. The number of employees in Germany and Brazil rises to a total of 900. In addition, a major VOSSKO brand relaunch took place a year later.

2013

Expansion of the product range

Expansion of the range to include a meat-free product line. Certification of the energy management system in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001. Construction of a new dry warehouse. 2014 saw the first trade fair appearance in the Middle East at Gulfood in Dubai.

2015

New certifications

QS, V-Log, Halal and V-Label.

2020

Social media & brand relaunch

2020 saw the launch of more extensive social media activities. A VOSSKO packaging relaunch also took place shortly beforehand.

2021

Completion of extensive construction work

Extensive construction work between 2016 and 2021 was finally completed. In addition to the construction of a combined heat and power plant and a new thawing hall, the new buildings of halls 4 and 5 were put into operation.

2023

New opening of canteen

The steadily growing workforce is delighted with the reopening of the canteen with its varied dishes and menus to suit every taste.

2024

Expansion of the management

Timo Greiling is already a long-standing member of the VOSSKO family and is now being promoted from Commercial Director to Member of the Management Board. This makes him the first external managing director who does not come from the Vosskötter family. Together with the three brothers Dietmar, Clemens and Ansgar Vosskötter, they are now responsible for around 1,300 employees of the group of companies worldwide.
